To follow Jesus
The only way we can follow Jesus is to keep our eyes on him. When we drop our gaze to look around at others or look inward to ourselves,we stumble and lose our way. The only way to truly follow him is to keep our eyes on him. Unfortunately, our nature isto focus on ourselves.
Why don't we follow Jesus better? We fear rejection by others. We fear failing. We fear losing control. We fear that our lives might not be full. There are many reasons. But, they are all inwardly focused. We get so wrapped up in ourselves and our fears we don't have time or courage to single-mindedly focus on Jesus.

Following Jesus is simple but it is not always easy. Jesus was on his way to the cross when he implored his disciples to follow. Sometimes Jesus' followers are killed or go through very difficult circumstances. Even so, following Jesus leads to freedom, joy, grace, and eternity regardless of circumstances. Most of all, Jesus says, "if anyone serves me, the Father will honor him." Creator-God, The Almighty, Yahweh, God of the Universe will honor those who follow Jesus. Truly amazing.
Its all about the eyes. Where are your eyes? Where are my eyes? Are we watching Jesus and following him? Or, are we looking inward and worrying about ourselves and how others might see us? Are you missing Jesus because you are too busy looking at yourself? Look up and follow Jesus.
