Well, we ended up closing on the purchase of a 1998 Maxum 4600. The survey revealed some issues that need to be addressed. We used the boat all summer and made a list of any additional items that we felt needed attention - of course the first thing was the addition of a Big Orange OEM filter! The boat is currently in the capable hands of Bill Bokan of CCI Shipwrights. The bottom has been blasted to remove all the previous boat paint. Offer accepted, inspection time...

Well, today we received confirmation that our offer to purchase was accepted. It looks like our next boat will be a 1998 Maxum 4600 SCB.  This boat is in great shape and has most of the features we were looking for. The next step is to have a survey completed to see if there are any issues with the hull or any of the mechanical systems. The surveyor that is doing this work comes highly recommended, David Buchanan from Orillia. We'll have to wait until the end of April see his report. Looking for our new (to us) boat

So, we are looking to buy our next boat. We sold our last boat, Benalisa III, at the end of the 2012 season and have been "itching" ever since. Our last boat was a Cruisers Yachts 405 express motor yacht. This was one of the worst/best purchases I ever made. The boat was beautiful with all the options including two seperate showers and a washer/dryer combo, this is the best part.
